*Responsibilities*
* Safely operate commercial trucks with manual transmission across long-distance OTR routes, ensuring compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards.
* Load and unload freight using proper manual handling techniques, managing logistics cargo handling for various types of cargo including hazardous materials and dangerous goods.
* Navigate using GPS systems to follow optimal routes, adjusting plans as needed to meet delivery schedules.
* Transport a wide range of freight such as refrigerated goods, automobile transportation, flatbed loads, or tanker shipments while maintaining vehicle safety and integrity.
* Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections on tractor-trailers to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with hazardous materials regulations.
* Document all driving activities accurately in logs, including delivery details, hours of service, and any incidents or delays encountered during trips.
* Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients to coordinate pickups, deliveries, and route adjustments while maintaining professional customer service standards.
*Skills*
* Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a valid CDL A license; familiarity with manual transmission trucks is preferred.
* Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT rules, hazard communication protocols, and hazardous materials regulations.
* Skilled in operating refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and other specialized equipment for diverse freight types.
* Strong GPS navigation skills for route planning and real-time adjustments during long-haul trips.
* Ability to load and unload freight safely using manual handling techniques; experience with logistics cargo handling is advantageous.
* Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety, compliance, and accident prevention on busy highways and local roads.
* Good communication skills for coordinating with dispatch teams and providing exceptional delivery driver service.
